What is Stamping?
Stamping is the process of using a stamping press where a tool and die form a sheet metal blank or a continuous steel coil through a single or progressive series of operations to manufacture a finished article. These operations can include punching round or specially designed holes, bending precise angles, flanging, coining and deep drawing. Stamping is usually done on cold metal.
Stamping is an efficient cost-effective method for producing metal parts in significant volume where a final part design can be achieved in a series of progressions resulting in parts with dimensional complexity manufactured through a controlled process.
